How it works

Four stages, in order

Each stage ends with something you can check yourself and keep, whether or not you continue. You start with the audit, and you decide how far to go from there.

  1. 01

    Audit

We look everywhere your customers and AI engines look, and tell you where you actually stand.

You keepThe audit. It’s yours, whatever you decide next.

  2. 02

    Discovery

We sit down with you and name the goals. Nothing gets built until they’re agreed.

You keepA 90-day roadmap, whether or not you continue.

  3. 03

    Build

We build the pages, profiles and listings that get a business found and cited. It only counts once it’s live.

You keepEverything we built, live on your own accounts.

  4. 04

    Engine

We keep it all current and report a number for every goal on a regular schedule.

You keepA report you can check, every cycle.

Stage 01

Find out where you stand

We look everywhere your customers and AI engines look for a business like yours: your website, Google, the directories, your reviews, your social profiles, and whether AI answers name you at all.

  • Rankings for the searches that bring you business
  • 12 to 15 customer questions asked across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google’s AI results and Copilot
  • Listings and profiles checked for accuracy and consistency
  • Reviews compared against the businesses you’re compared to
  • Your site read the way an engine reads it, structured data included

You keep

The audit. It’s yours, whatever you decide next.

Stage 02

Your goals, named

We sit down with you and your team to work out what the business actually wants: the services to grow, the customers and referrers to reach, the reputation to protect. Nothing gets built until the goals are named and agreed.

  • The services and searches worth owning, in order
  • A target and a date for every goal
  • Where there’s still room for you to stand out locally
  • What we need from you, stated up front

You keep

A 90-day roadmap, whether or not you continue.

Stage 03

Pages and profiles you own

We build the things that get a business found and cited: your site and its structured data, local search and your Google Business Profile, your review presence, and content about what you do, written for customers and built to be quoted, video included.

  • Citable pages with accurate schema.org markup
  • Google Business Profile and key directories, claimed and consistent
  • A review program that keeps volume and recency up
  • Content that answers the questions customers actually type
  • Nothing counts as done until it’s live and you can check it

You keep

Everything we built, live on your own accounts.

Stage 04

Ongoing work you can measure

After launch we keep things current with new content and ongoing monitoring, and we report a number for every goal on a schedule we agree on. Numbers that stall show up in the report too.

  • AI-citation tracking across the engines your customers use
  • Search, listing and review monitoring
  • New content on a steady cadence
  • Reports that lead with whatever needs the most work

You keep

A report you can check, every cycle.

What the audit shows

You see the weak numbers first

Your baseline is a short list of plain status labels. If AI answers never mention you, the label says Invisible, and we leave it that way. Here’s what a typical starting baseline looks like.

Common questions

About the process

Still unsure? Write to hello@authengine.ai.

What does the audit cover?

Where you rank for the searches that matter to your business, how your listings and reviews compare to the businesses you are compared against, what your own site tells search and AI engines, and whether AI answers name you at all. You get a plain read on where you stand, including the numbers that are bad.

Do I have to continue after the audit?

No. Every stage ends with something you keep whether or not you continue. The audit is yours. So is the roadmap from discovery, and so is everything we build.

Who owns what you build?

You do. The pages, profiles, listings and content live on your accounts and your domain. If we stop working together, all of it stays with you.

How do you report results?

Each goal gets a baseline, a target and a date. We report the current number against it on a stated schedule. You see every number, including the ones that stall, along with what we are doing about them.

Which AI engines do you track?

Each month we ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google’s AI results and Copilot the 12 to 15 questions your customers actually ask. We ask more than once, because AI answers vary from run to run.

How long until something moves?

It depends on your baseline and your market, which is why we set dates per goal instead of promising a timeline up front. Fixes to your own site and listings can show up quickly. Reviews and reputation take longer. We tell you which is which before you start.

What do you need from me?

Access to the accounts we are fixing, answers about your business that only you have, and review of anything published in your name. Every report ends with the one thing we still need from you to keep it moving.
